Too many photos

This post features a spinner called Cristian Novoa - you can follow them on instagram at https://www.instagram.com/aliveflare/. If you're Edinburgh-local - you can go find them and watch them perform while they're still here!
I've been getting around in August. While I admit I have seen quite a lot of folks juggling knives - there's also a lot of variety to be found! But it's sometimes nice to get back to more familiar things, maybe with an additional twist.
Fire performers are my bread and butter. You can go check out some on the front page. But it's actually quite rare for me to shoot fire performers in the day, in good light, where you're not panicking just to get your camera to focus.
Today's "featured artist" I actually saw twice on the Royal Mile. The second time, I came away with more photos than I really want to throw into my fringe collection. So indulging myself here they are...
Somehow recently, I've really started falling in love with obscured faces. Who needs a frame, when your subject can just stick a hand up? Always important to remember, that an interesting composition is often opposed to a good photo in the subject's eyes. But, self-indulgence is important too.
Criss-cross sticks can make good leading lines. Look how fiery it is!
This is kind of a combination of the two concepts. Leading lines, partially obscured face. Really draws you to the eyes I think.
I was shooting at quite a high-focal-length, which means I got some lovely close shots but struggled to capture the moments when the dude threw the staff way up in the air - aside from this case.
Seeing the air rippling in the heat - you don't get this so much at night!
